Whenever I’m working on the comic, or writing news, or just surfing the net, I like to listen to Podcast, and Music. It sooth’s me, centers me if you will. And of course when I’m, home alone, I like to turn it up! But now thanks to Pandora, that has changed. Don’t get me wrong programs like Pandora, Last.FM, and other sites are a great idea. The premiss: Type in any Artist, Song, or Genre and they’ll play simpler music, sound simple right? Accept for Pandora, you see Pandora takes to a new level, if you like or hate the song you can choose the “Thumbs Up” or “Thumbs Down” button, and Pandora will either never play that song again, or will play similar music to what you like. The problem is sometimes the wires cross, and you may no get what you wanted. Here’s what I’m talking about for example a song comes on it it a Hip Hop song, that you like comes on, you you hit the “Thumbs Up” button, another song this time is a heavy beat fast paced song, another “Thumbs Up” then another song with some Chinese wind chimes in the back, and you think: “Ya know, this isn’t a bad song either.” Next thing you know someone walks into the room, and the next some pops up. Some Techno Japanese Boy Band is singing their heart out to you, and the person who walked in the room has the suspicions that the rumors are true….Jonny Tango is gay. See the problem is Pandora knows what they’re doing, it’s like a musical game of Mouse trap. The players have been made and of course the traps has been set. That one song sit dormant until you “The Player” chooses the right and wrong “Thumbs Up” and “Thumbs Down” and then like a Panther hunting their prey, Pandora strikes and puts you in one the most awkward positions ever as you try to find the Pandora window, to shut it down, the person witnessing what your doing, know has a preconceived notion to what you listen to, and the damage is done…
