Game Rant – Twitter Ads

Game Rant – Twitter Ads

I’ll admit it….I’m nosy…I like to know stuff. So when I discovered Twitter.com, my mind was blown, having the ability to get notifications from numerous account on Video Games, Comics, Movies, and anything my nerdy heart desires! I love it, and it helped me find news to write about, talk about, and even rant about. But then things started to change, now when news is posted, it started lightly goto a site that post the four sentences of the article, then a “Read More” link to goto the original site with the news. But now, now it seems that’s everyone is doing, where I know find some interesting news and after three referral sites, and can then finally read the article. Now you’d think this would be a simple task, but no. If your like me and get twitter posts sent to your phone, it takes so long to get these site to load up, then have to scroll down then click on “Read More” to start all over.

These site like GameKicker.com are being created to get people to goto their site, then have to goto the original site to get the information. Any why? Advertisement. Advertisement on gaming sites are getting redickulas, some site do well with advertismenbt, take sites like GianBomb.com, 1up.com, or Joystiq.com they change their background, or add a banner or side picture to the site for some advertisement. Where sites like IGN.com or GameSpot.com make you bombard you with links every time you click on the next link.

The problem here is that gaming sites are loosing the focus on what they’re here for. Three things: Reviews, News, and Blogs. I goto TeamXbox.com and Kotaku.com for the way the set up their articles: Clean, Creative, and Informative. Gaming sites are going too far. And I feel if something is don’t soon, we’ll all have to watch a Fourty-Five minute infomercial on god danm snuggie before we can find out todays gaming headlines.
